Leaf Time Again
There’s only a 7-10 day period, when the autumn leaves are at their most gorgeous, absolute best.
Unfortunately, we’ve had grey, dark weather of much of that time.
But I did manage to get a few decent photos, on the rare times when the sun decided to make an appearance.
The Bear seemed to enjoy himself, too.

I like the 4th one.
But all of them are nice.
The weather is bad here too so I might not get any shots this year.

Oh, Friar. These are breathtaking. They are achingly beautiful. We’re still getting there, 4 hours down from you. It’s sad the colours will be done so soon for you.
3 and 8 are my very faves.

PS. Some of these look like the lookout trail at Algonquin? Particularly 9?

@Francis
Genuine compliments (??)
I am flattered. (And somewhat puzzled!)
@Steph
I drove around today…did you know, they’ve already PEAKED? The trees are already starting to lose them.
It wasn’t the best year. Not like 2008 which had lots of reds. But it’s still quite nice to look at.
I’ll probably post some more later this week.

@Steph
Yup…some photos were from that lookout!

Lovely pictures. You have more color than here in the South. It is finally cooling down and the trees are just beginning to turn. I’m looking forward to seeing them in their muted glory.

@Linda
We start a lot earlier up here. (Some trees were starting to change at the end of July!)
We’ll be done..while you guys will just be starting.

Beautiful, Friar. I like the second and third pics.
Your horizons are pretty bang on level, you know? That’s one of the first things I look for in a landscape. If you scroll up so the horizon is at the top of your screen you’ll see what I mean. They’re exactly level.
What I don’t get about Bear is that he looks so floppy and yet he has the greatest posture

@Davina
One word, as to why my horizons are so level:
Photoshop.

That’s really good actually! My fall colors pictures are crap this year. The light is wrong and the leaves aren’t as colorful, half of them are moldy because of the rain.

Friar, these photos are so breathtaking! I’ve learned since moving to a place that has seasons that the beauty of Autumn (which I didn’t have in the land of perpetual sunshine) is short lived. The brevity makes it all the more beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photos, I can come here and gaze when the trees go bare and the snow start to fall.

@Zhu
The colors are nice, but they aren’t great this year. Very little red..it went to dull rust very quickly.
Still, it’s nice to look at.
@Karen
Keep your eyes peeled. I’ll probalby have a few more photos later this week.
