A Working Dog in Action
The photo doesn’t show it too well.
But what you have here is a Duck-Toller retrieving her ball…while totally ignoring a REAL-LIFE duck just 10 feet away.
Way to go, dog.
Way to do your breed PROUD. :-)

How good?
….PRETTY good!

See, the dog is using the boll to toll, the duck, exactly as he was designed to do by Leonardo DaVinci when he first encoded his DNA. Just be careful to never let him have a bell to play with because no one wants to know for whom the bell tolls.

@Dave
Nice pun. (Ouch!)

Is this my TOLLER?!
(It doesnt’ surprise me, she is oblivious to water fowl, unless they smell or look like a rubber ikea ball, which of course they don’t).
She’s trembling here in my office with me while I blare music and try to drown out the sound of the thunder. It’s so terribly sad to see her so scared.

@Seestor
Yes, this is your Toller. Who has NO interest in ducks, whatsoever. (But then again, why does this not suprise me?)
The neighbors’ Rottie-mix was there, and wanted to play with her. And she totally ignored him too.
It’s all about the BALL.

Ah, Deep, it’s you who have it all wrong. Good grief. The post title is your clue. Working dogs, by instinct and training, put their attention on The Single Most Important Thing in the World. She’s doing exactly that: Enjoying Life!

@Julie
Yes. She’s very focused. Her Life Goal is to retrieve the ball.
And she’s achieving it.

Haha, how ironic
I thought my dog was the only one who ignores ducks! We regularly go for walks around a lake with ducks and neither the ducks nor my dog pay any attention to each other. Yet, she’ll practically kill herself chasing a lizard or rabbit… who knows!
